Road & mountian biking, kayaking, trail running, hiking, XC & alpine skiing.

What outdoor competitions have you participated in?
Sprint triathlons, mountian bike races, sailboard racing.

What's a sport/outdoor lesson you learned the hard way?
Clip out when mountain biking a trail over your head. I've landed in creeks and rolled down hills.

Tell us how you went out of your way to help a customer.
One year we delivered a canoe on Christmas Eve. It was fun seeing the kids piling out of the house to check it out.

Name the next item you're planning to buy from the store and why?
Over the years the list has been long. Right now, probably some winter clothes.

What's your most useful advice for someone who's buying a piece of equipment for the first time?
Buy what you can afford, get out and start having fun.

What music do you chill to?
Jack Johnson and a lot of different genres.

What music do you race to?
Whatever is in my head.

What's the best advice anyone ever gave you?
My oldest brother told me to "follow your gut". That led me from teaching school to working at Bushwhacker 30 years ago.
